Secret family recipe

Our recipe has been handed down through two family generations for nearly 60 years. Our delicious scones taste like no other.

Our next slide shows our recipe, or at least most of it, as we still want it to remain a secret!

The scone mixture
How it is made

How it is made

Fresh scones are continually being baked throughout the day. We start with a mixture of flour, margarine, sugar and dried fruit, all crumbled to produce a dry mix. We then add milk and eggs to bind the mixture into a dough consistency and place the dough onto a large tray to be rolled out. The dough is then divided by using a circular cutter and placed onto a greased tray. They are then coated with the egg and milk mix and then placed into the oven for cooking. The scones cooking time is approximately 25-30 minutes. Once cooked the scones are removed from the oven and placed onto trays to cool, ready to be served to our customers.

Best served with?

Our scones are delectable just as they are, but if you want to be wicked you can choose to have them with jam and Dorset clotted cream. They are a perfect accompaniment to a pot of our loose leaf tea.

We are the largest purchaser of loose leaf tea outside London according to our supplier, Tudor Tea and Coffee.
