CHURCH OPE COVE
A small secluded pebble beach on the sheltered eastern side of the Island accessible from the village of Wakeham.
The South-facing beach is surrounded by cliffs on each side making it a real sun trap throughout the day. This beach is popular for snorkelling, diving and swimming, however this beach has extremely strong currents and as there are no lifeguards present, venturing out into the deeper parts of the cove is strongly advised against.
Reaching this beach involves a walk down an extremely long flight of steps which is more difficult for small children and the elderly and there is no wheelchair access.
